Head of Editorial, Zappos
Job Summary:
The Head of Editorial is responsible for leading and managing the editorial team to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, engaging content across the company’s marketing channels. This includes developing & integrating the Zappos brand messaging calendar into daily marketing, as well as strategizing and executing the org’s key content initiatives (Tier 1 campaigns). The Head of Editorial will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, creative & buying to align content with the overall business and brand strategy.

Key job responsibilities
-Develop and implement the editorial vision, strategy, and content roadmap to support the company's broader business objectives
-Own the strategy, briefing & execution of Zappos’ Tier 1 campaign initiatives
-Lead, manage, and mentor a team of writers to ensure efficient, effective content production
-Develop & maintain a brand voice & copy best practices guide
-Oversee the editorial review and approval process to maintain brand voice, quality standards, and editorial integrity
-Collaborate with marketing, buying, and other teams to ensure content aligns with user/customer needs and business goals
-Monitor content performance metrics and leverage data-driven insights to continuously optimize the editorial strategy
-Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for content innovation
-Represent the editorial function and serve as a subject matter expert
