Job Overview:
Weatherford is seeking a highly experienced and driven Global Product Line Quality Director to lead our Global Product Line Quality organization. This role will collaborate closely with Global Service Delivery Managers to drive clarity, simplification, and adherence to our operational control plans, procedures, and technical work instructions. The Director will reinforce process and procedure adherence across all product lines and geographical zones, with a core focus on improving service quality metrics.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring ethical conduct and compliance with Company policies, regulations, and industry best practices. Exercise 'Stop Work Authority' in case of safety, quality, or integrity concerns. Implement a quality program and system to ensure continuous improvement and conformity to internal and external standards. Maintain, communicate, and implement the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout the product lines. Lead the Global PL Quality team, providing training, accountability, and driving a prevention-based quality mindset. Implement quality tools and methodologies, such as FMEAs, SPC, DOE, and Poke-Yoke, to reduce failure modes and drive process uniformity. Lead reliability projects to reduce common cause failure modes in products, services, and solutions. Define critical-to-quality (CTQ) and critical-to-process (CTP) requirements and incorporate them into quality plans and measurement systems. Create leading and lagging tools to promote higher service quality levels within the product line. Champion DMAIC methodology and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide product line subject matter expertise and support for root cause analyses (RCAs) and corrective actions. Collaborate with Engineering to error-proof tools, product designs, systems, and processes based on incident reviews. Identify and address system/procedural gaps through analyses of cross-geographical zone product line incident reports and failures. Understand and drive actions to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by product line. Support Global Service Delivery with quality inputs to ensure operational control plans, procedures, and service quality plans are built for operational success and consistent high-quality services. Ensure quality processes, work instructions, and operational control plans are clear, concise, and value-added. Responsible and accountable for Global Product Line notifications (alerts, bulletins, changes in documentation). Drive the product line audit plan in collaboration with geographical zone Quality Managers. Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including Quality, Product Lines, Global Service Delivery, and external clients. Monitor and improve Global Product Line(s) performance metrics, such as Non-Productive Time (NPT), Cost of Poor Quality, and process/procedure adherence. Demonstrate leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times.Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Management, or a related field from an accredited university is required. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.Certifications:
API Q1/Q2 and API Design Standards expertise is preferred. Lean Six Sigma practical experience is preferred.Required:
15+ years of experience in a Quality, Service Delivery, or related functional role is required. 15+ years of experience in a leadership position driving cross-functional influence is preferred. Subject matter expertise in related product line(s) is required. Strong knowledge of project management, quality assurance, and quality control processes and philosophies is required. Proven ability to execute and achieve impactful results in the organization is required. Detail-oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently and within projected deadlines. Ability to offer creative solutions and resourceful problem-solving skills is required. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of global and virtual teams across multiple geographies/vertical markets is required. Well-organized, effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills are required. Ability to prepare and present clear and concise oral and written opinions, reports, and presentations is required. Experience with Six Sigma and Lean operations is preferred. Experience with WPTS and OEPS (Weatherford Quality related systems) is preferred. Experience with project delivery and implementation is preferred. Experience with Oil and Gas surface systems, downhole tools, and applications is preferred.
