Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech **We are searching for the best talent for our Front End Innovation Platform Lead position in Groningen, the Netherlands.** **Main Duties & Responsibilities:** + Owns the development and implementation of solutions to complex or highly visible situations; serves as a technical mentor throughout R&D; creates opportunities for others to learn. Proactively implements new technologies for specific applications within R&D; raises awareness of new technologies on a broader basis. + Designs and manages multiple complex experiments and/or processes. Creates specifications for complex situations with justifications; approves as appropriate Oversees process transfer based on expert knowledge + Leads complex functional projects to achieve project deliverables; leads team to overcome project challenges; provides expertise and guidance to functional project teams + Provides advice and guidance in developing protocols/ procedures; develops reports and conclusions that have an impact across the functional group; gains alignment with management on complex justifications + Leads others: + in analyzing complex problems and issues that have significant impact across the functional group. + in identifying and implementing solutions to complex issues within the functional group; gains alignment across stakeholders. + in making data driven decisions and in taking actions in anticipation of the future; creates opportunities for the long term or avoids future issues. + Collaborates with internal and external experts to present complex information to OPCO; coaches team to develop and to deliver presentations; presents information to industry groups and professional associations + Is recognized throughout functional group as an expert in relevant products/ surgical techniques; provides guidance in product/ surgical technique design & development. Is corresponding author on peer-review journal articles, abstracts, and external or internal technical presentations and publications (e.g. advisory boards, steering committees). + Designs and leads an integrated series of experiments; leads others in conducting or coordinating experiments, interpreting test results, and resolving testing issues; provides guidance in experimentation across functional areas within OpCo **Qualifications / Requirements:** + Education: PhD in optics, physics, vision science, biomedical engineering + Work Experience: 10+ years in the relevant field + Knowledge of relevant GMP, ISO 13485 and ISO1400, as well as relevant work rules and procedures + Knowledge of MS Office + Good Command of Dutch and English (verbal and written) + Expert in optic or mechanical design principles, using tools for design and simulation of optical or mechanical systems + Demonstrable research experience and interest in technology development + Strong problem problem-solving ability and communication skills + Flexible in the performance of tasks + Can operate and maintain relationship at different levels + Decisive and knows how to choose the right priorities + Excellent Time-Management skills
