General Summary:

Experience: 2 YearsJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled and motivated FOSS Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in open-source software development, compliance, and security. You will be responsible for ensuring license compliance, enhancing software license reporting, and maintaining a software bill of materials for all product lines. Your role will also involve automating compliance processes, educating the development community, and collaborating with various teams to ensure adherence to licensing obligations.Key Responsibilities:Ensure license compliance in software products.Enhance software license compliance and reporting for open-source and third-party software.Maintain and publish a software bill of materials for all product lines per software release.Survey and recommend license and security compliance tools.Improve software development processes for compliance best practices.Educate the development community regarding software compliance practices.Automate software and security compliance and inventory reports.Document processes and procedures.Collaborate with the legal team to provide answers to customer or partner inquiries.Interface with tools vendors and their support teams when issues arise.Develop and implement open-source compliance policies and procedures.Regularly report activities and status to key stakeholders.Perform code auditing/vetting and provide recommendations for compliance in software products to the Product Team and legal departments.Technical Skills Requirements:Experience with license and OSS compliance reporting and publishing.Familiarity or experience with OpenChain standard and implementation.Direct experience using Software Composition Analysis (SCA) tools such as Blackduck or equivalent.Experience with Linux, binary images, packages, containers, and source code repositories such as Git.Ability to read programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, Go.Ability to automate license compliance reporting and integrate it into CI/CD processes.Strong attention to detail and high-quality output.Ability to work independently, drive improvements, meet schedules, and exhibit strong writing skills.Experience with Linux OS is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Associate's degree.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
