Electrical Engineering Manager, Medical Device Manufacturing

Provides expertise in the optimization of manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and direct electrical engineering and software development projects with key team members 

Work with PCB assembly and fab houses to improve yield and design-for-manufacture improvements. 

Troubleshoot high-priority field and production issues and resolve corrective actions. 

Define and develop automated and semi-automated systems & processes to improve reliability, accuracy and throughput of product.   

Address key bottleneck/quality related manufacturing processes and develop/document/implement projects to eliminate bottleneck or quality related issues 

Provide leadership and direction to direct reports, if and when, assigned 

Provide timely and effective documentation of projects and processes per Endotronix QMS (including NCMRs, CAPAs, Protocols, Reports, etc.) 

Provide training to engineering and manufacturing team members and other departments where applicable 

Take ownership of processes and become the SME related to electrical/electronic products manufactured  

Work in a strong collaborative effort with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to address issues as assigned 

Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Scientific field, minimum of 8 years experience including either industry or industry/education Required or

Master's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Scientific Field, minimum of 7 years experience, including either industry or industry/education Required or

Ph.D. or equivalent in Engineering or Scientific field, minimum of 4 years experience, including either industry or industry/education Required

Preferred Skills:

Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment involving electronic and/or software process improvements, preferably within a regulated industry  

Experience working with PCB assembly and/or fabrication houses 

Demonstrated competency/experience in automation/process improvement projects 

Competency in electrical engineering software and/or hardware 

Competency in reading/developing electrical schematics/drawings 

Demonstrated competency/experience in verification and validation activities, both hardware and software 

Capability to comprehend entire operation sequences and provide detailed analysis/set up/test outcomes for purposes of addressing and improving processes 

Demonstrated competency of Quality systems and processes 

Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace 

Altium and/or LabVIEW desired.  

Exceptional written and oral communication skills suitable for writing documents and teaching staff 

Detail oriented and highly organized 

Collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-team members

For Illinois, the base pay range for this position is $136,000 to $192,000 (highly experienced).
