Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine Role Description: The Director, Access Ecosystem Strategy will be responsible to create, align and drive above brand strategies to address some of the biggest challenges in the Market Access ecosystem. These strategies will be relevant for the Janssen portfolio and ecosystem partners. This leader will work closely with internal and external partners to further define the friction points; identify potential solutions, and drive implementation of Janssen approved solutions within the marketplace. Examples of friction points may include (but not limited to) the impact of patients shifting from Medicare FFS to Medicare Advantage, financing for high investment medicines, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) organizations expanding influence to include Medical Benefit Management (MBM), and supporting patient access to medicines in light of accumulator/maximizer/alternate funding program initiatives. This leader will work closely with a broad range of internal enterprise partners including Health Policy & Advocacy, Strategic Account Management, Value Access & Pricing, Legal, and Communications & Public Affairs. Additionally, this leader will work with external partners including emerging players, consultants, and academics. This leader will report to the Senior Director, Access Ecosystem Strategy for the Janssen SCG. Key Responsibilities: + Conceptualize, align, create, and implement strategies to address ecosystem-wide friction points to protect or improve patient access to Janssen current and future portfolio + Synthesize external thought leader perspectives to provide insights on future ecosystem developments; forecast changes to the entire healthcare ecosystem and how that impacts patient access to our therapies and develop recommendations for Janssen to help preserve patient access as well as our competitiveness in the market + Drive results on key projects, as assigned by leadership To achieve these, this individual will … + Provide definition around the key market access challenges at the ecosystem level from a current and future portfolio perspective + Develop hypotheses for potential strategies to address via engagements with internal and external experts. Refine hypotheses with ongoing engagements with these experts + Identify opportunities to engage external ecosystem players to establish proofs of concept in market. This will involve partnering with account-facing leaders, legal, compliance and other external partners + Engage internal and external thought leaders across the Market Access landscape, key consulting partners, academics, employer groups and/or employers, policy thought leaders, etc., in a manner that is consistent with company’s Legal and Compliance policies + Additionally, this leader will need to develop partnerships across multiple internal functions including but not limited to Strategic Account Management, Trade Channel Strategy, Trade Distribution, Policy, Strategic Contracting, VAP, Strategic Contracting, etc. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced degree or MBA preferred + A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive and relevant healthcare industry experience is required. + Experience across a varied group of T/A’s Therapeutic Areas (Onc, IMM, CNS rtc.) + Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred with solid knowledge of legislative and legal boundaries/guidelines + Marketing, Strategy, and/or Innovation Consulting experience is preferred + Experience leading teams in a matrix environment required + Experience in market access or payer marketing experience is preferred + Pricing experience and understanding is an important plus + Cross functional experiences within account management or policy is an asset + Must demonstrate knowledge and success in navigating through changes in the healthcare marketplace, bringing an understanding of the industry’s customers, their challenges, and possible future healthcare scenarios + Must have a track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external parties to ensure deep understanding of challenges and issues that impact the ability of Janssen to successfully preserve patient access for our current and future portfolio + A strong communicator that can lead delivery and creation of impactful and tailored communications to educate and mobilize critical stakeholders is required + Ability to communicate effectively with others and defend logical business arguments, including reaching consensus when required. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
