Role: We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director, SME Sales Specialist Alternative Distribution Channels to lead our efforts in expanding Mastercard’s presence in the SME segment. This is your chance to drive revenue growth, forge strategic partnerships, and be at the forefront of innovation in the payments industry.
Key Responsibilities:
•\tLead with Impact: Own and execute a revenue-driven sales strategy to grow Mastercard’s SME segment share in South Asia.
•\tInnovate and Collaborate: Identify and engage potential customers through direct outreach, partnerships, and market intelligence.
•\tSolve Real Problems: Understand SME pain points and tailor Mastercard’s solutions to address their unique challenges, including payments & acceptance, spend management, and digital transformation.
•\tMaximize Value: Position Mastercard’s SME product suite—both core and through strategic partnerships—to deliver maximum client value.
•\tExpand Horizons: Develop and manage relationships with fintech’s, acquirers, issuers, and other ecosystem players to expand Mastercard’s reach.
•\tDrive Conversions: Engage directly with customers and partners to position Mastercard solutions, negotiate deals, and drive conversions.
Qualifications:
•\tExpertise in Action: Strong knowledge and experience in structuring channel financing deals.
•\tProduct Mastery: Expertise in Payments Product management and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.
•\tFinancial Acumen: Proven ability to manage Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
•\tCollaborative Spirit: Extensive experience working across a matrix organization with cross-functional team collaboration as a top priority.
•\tChannel Savvy: Familiarity with alternative distribution channels such as Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Payment Facilitators (PayFac), Fintech enablers, and marketplaces. Examples include companies like Unilever and Nestlé; platforms like Amazon and Alibaba; and channel finance partners both traditional and emerging players in this space.
•\tData-Driven: Strong analytic and data experience to identify trends and areas of growth.

•\tHave experience working with fintech’s and alternative payment providers to drive innovation in B2B transactions.
•\tPossess strong relationship management, influencing, and communication skills.
•\tBe self-motivated, a quick learner, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•\tHold a bachelor’s degree (required); advanced degree preferred.
•\tEnglish required.
