The Infrastructure Engineering Professional within the Gemini Evolution Team role is pivotal in shaping the future of our network infrastructure. Infrastructure Engineering Professional is at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining the critical systems that underpin our cutting-edge services. The Infrastructure Engineering Professional will be required to build relationships and work across the wider team to drive all activities through to satisfactory resolution.
Responsible for driving own technical development and supporting Gemini Evolution strategy and business goals.
**What you’ll be doing**
+ Organises the maintenance of EvolutionPlatform components and tools by contributing towards the creation of designs on services (e.g., network, security, storage, compute) produced in line with design standards.
+ Contributes to the automation and orchestration capabilities across the environment and establishes process and procedures that promote efficiency
+ Drives to the collaboration with OSS, enterprise architecture, infrastructure and cyber security teams to assist in the implementation of an effective product roadmap.
+ Leads the implementation of enhanced network monitoring technology that aligns to customers’ requirements and Gemini Evolution strategic direction.
+ Organises material and data for documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into Gemini Evolution.
+ Strong awareness of and adherence to TSA and BT Our commitments.
+ Ensures customers are kept informed throughout the lifecycle of any implementation work undertaken.
+ Collaborates with teams across the business, adhering to policy, regulatory requirements, and standards of best practice.
+ Supports GemEvo leadership initiatives.
+ Proposes and implements ways to improve working processes within Gemini Evolution – both network and software focused.
+ Coaches and supports Gemini Evolution colleagues and apprentices.
+ Drives own technical growth, proactively identifying opportunities to support own career development and the growth of others.
**The skills you'll need**
+ Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Network Cloud, AWS, or Digital Ocean, including deploying and managing cloud-based applications and services.
+ Demonstrated ability to design and implement IT infrastructure, including network architecture, server configurations, and tool deployment.
+ Proficiency in writing and debugging code in languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and scripting languages like JavaScript or Bash.
+ Expertise in planning and creating the foundational structures of IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and facilities, to support seamless business operations and growth.
+ Proficiency in delivering computing services such as servers, storage, databases, networking, and analytics enabling scalable resources, cost savings
+ Experience in developing and implementing automation scripts and tools to streamline IT processes and improve operational efficiency.
+ Practical experience in database administration, including setting up, maintaining, and optimizing databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) for performance and security.
+ Background in implementing and managing security measures to protect IT systems, including experience with firewalls.
+ Experience of working successfully within a team and individually.
+ Proven track record of managing own workstack and delivering demand to customer requirements.
+ Effective stakeholder management and experience of resolving conflict.
+ Recognised as someone who can successfully coach and mentor others.
