We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision-making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people. As the **Demand Planner** , you’ll have the chance to develop and issue the finished goods forecast per value stream assigned which translates into manufacturing plans by partnering with some or all of the following: marketing, supply chain management, supply planning, purchasing, finance, program management, regulatory, research and development and clinical. **What You’ll Work On** + Prepares data and graphs and leads monthly pre-S&OP meetings with cross-functional stakeholders (marketing, production, engineering, regulatory, clinical, R&D) within applicable value streams; drives action items as result of meeting. + Schedules and ensures proper attendance of pre-S&OP meetings. + Prepares S&OP template for S&OP management review and is prepared to justify actions. + Facilitates meetings to ensure clarity between supply and demand. + Develops new product launch plans (including phase ins and phase outs) with input and collaboration from selling divisions, production, marketing, R&D and regulatory; works with Supply Chain Manager for production plan. + Reviews criteria for new product numbers (ZFIN) requests, creates new ZFIN setup, sets up and maintains master data, applies safety stocks, and adds forecast into SAP. + Reviews data from various sources to create finished goods forecast which translates into manufacturing build plans while giving consideration to the following: backorder mitigation, minimization of time finished goods sits in inventory, minimizing finished goods/raw material/subassembly scrap, finished goods safety stock, new product introductions and product phase outs. + Leads cross functional meetings to ensure key stakeholders provide feedback and updates which could influence finished goods demands. + Leads continuous improvement project teams, proactively and without prompting, pulling in stakeholders from across the entity. + Performs as a systems super-user to investigate and recommend system efficiency improvements. + Provide system training and guidance to junior members of the team. + Analyzes the following on a consistent basis to review accuracy, identify trends and capture issues, developing plans of actions based on findings: actual shipments versus the net required forecast plans; finished goods actual results versus the forecast; and actual sales versus the forecast. + Loads and maintains the demand forecast into the appropriate system. + Prepares various reports as needed which are moderately to highly complex. + Facilitates communication with key stakeholders regarding finished goods supply issues. Partners with stake holders to resolve outstanding issues. + Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. + Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Finance or related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and works experience. + Minimum 5 years’ experience in forecasting/demand planning, 1 years of experience working in forecasting/demand Planning/ERP/ MRP systems and/or software. **Preferred Qualifications** + Three year’s experience in medical device industry preferred. + Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred. + Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment. + Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. + Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. + Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. + Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in timely manner. + Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail. + Proficient in excel and power point + Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally. The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
