Job Description

The Full Stack Data Engineering Lead will design reliable, scalable data management (acquisition, integration, transformation) using DevOps methodologies and DA&I Microsoft PaaS platforms. Design and allow DA&I solutions and services throughout the company. As a Lead, you will achieve this by leading, and empowering other engineers.

You will be DA&I's competitive advantage, driving outcomes through applicable analytics and decision intelligence. It is important to helping our businesses recognize value from data and will shape the future of how we provide analytics solutions.

As a full stack engineer, a broad understanding and skillset is necessary to cover the entire data lifecycle, from sourcing raw data to making it available and usable for applications and analytics. As a lead, you will oversee and mentor others, ensuring quality work and output while also maintaining standards for consistency and supportability. Expected skillsets include SQL, Python, data modeling, and tools such as ADLS, Databricks, ADF, SQL DB or equivalent data management tools.

You will report to the Technical Leader – DA&I Platform

Main responsibilities:

Guide and mentors fellow engineers to fulfil Rockwell Automation's data requirementsContribute to standards and methodologies to ensure quality and outputDesign, codes and tests new data management solutions, including supporting applications and interfaces.Architect data structures to provision and enable "Data as a Service" .Support cross-functional development activity in multiple DA&I and Connected Enterprise related projects, for internal and external customersDevelop and test infrastructure components in Cloud and Edge-level environmentsMonitor industry trends and identifies opportunities to implement new technologiesManage the DevOps pipeline deployment modelWork with other engineers and architects to keep the architecture currentHelp enhance applicationsWrite high-quality code compliant with regulationsCollaborate with business systems analysts and product owners to define requirements

Skills, Experience and Education

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, or related field8 years experience in systems development lifecycleExperience in Data management concepts and implementationsExperience with Agile development methodologies and system/process documentationExperience with server-side architectures and containerizationExperience with SAP Data Services, Azure ADF, ADLS, SQL, Tabular models, Data Bricks or other domain-specific programming languagesFamiliarity with business concepts and impact of data on business processesExperience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsAdapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirementsSolid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities
