Job Description

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team working with Data Centre clients across both Hyperscale and Colocation and also Enterprise on projects across Europe. These projects are led from our specialist data centre team based in the UK in conjunction with our local teams across Europe who ensure localisation and permitting delivery, but also other global design teams providing resource and capability to the projects.

We are seeking someone with a strong technical background in the DC sector who can lead a multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering project with a key client at a Director level.

In this role, you will take the lead in internal commercial and contractual governance for the client, ensuring compliance to internal process, managing risk to AECOM and ensuring profitable delivery.

You’ll be the key contact for a high-profile client delivering across multiple data centre projects.

You’ll drive technical excellence, manage delivery teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

You’ll have the platform to influence, lead and shape the future of AECOM’s data centre delivery capability at a senior level.

The location of the role is flexible within the UK / Ireland however it will be important that it is local to one of our hubs of expertise – London, Dublin, Manchester and the role will require travel within the UK&I and Europe.

Ideally you will live locally to an office or be willing to relocate.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Lead a portfolio of data centre projects across Europe from a delivery, technical and commercial standpointAct as the primary escalation point for client and internal teams across all project stagesManage commercial performance, governance, and compliance with internal processesCoordinate bids and supplier requests, ensuring seamless collaboration across disciplinesChair strategic meetings, lead financial reviews, and report key metrics to senior leadershipEnsure consistency and quality across all deliverables, managing resource allocation and resolving technical issues proactively

Who We’re Looking For:

A Chartered Engineer or equivalent with a strong technical background in the data centre sectorExperienced in leading complex, multi-disciplinary design projects (AEC, MEP, Civil/Structural)A confident communicator and relationship builder who can lead client interactions at director levelCommercially savvy with experience managing risk, governance, and profitabilityWilling to travel across UK&I and Europe as required

 

QualificationsIn-depth understanding of building systems, regulations, contracts, and construction typesFamiliarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and collaborative digital platformsStrong knowledge of design workflows and managing fast-paced project environmentsA valid driving licence and proven ability to manage competing priorities
