AstraZeneca is seeking a Corporate Affairs Executive to join our team. In this vital role, you will support the planning and implementation of corporate affairs strategies that align with our commercial growth objectives and enhance our corporate reputation. You will be involved in developing and executing strategies to enhance the company's reputation, support policy change initiatives, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, the role will be based in Malaysia and work as part of a cross-functional team and in partnership with local and regional/international teams. The objective is to support AstraZeneca's reputation in innovation, shape policy within priority therapy areas, and drive our sustainability agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
Reputation Management:
Assist in the development and execution of strategies to enhance and protect the company's reputation.Support efforts to strengthen local public-private partnerships and private-private partnerships.Identify potential opportunities within various ministries and organizations that contribute to business growth.Policy Development:
Support the development of strategies for influencing policy changes that align with the company's objectives and priorities.Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory developments impacting the pharmaceutical industry.Assist in advocating for the company's interests in policy discussions and regulatory matters.Stakeholder Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry associations, community leaders, and government officials.Identify and engage with key stakeholders to build supportive relationships.Conduct stakeholder analysis and develop engagement plans to address their needs and concerns.Crisis Management:
Assist in developing and implementing crisis communication plans to manage potential issues and emergencies.Support as a contact point during crises, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders.Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with team members and support the execution of strategic plans and initiatives.Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Political Science, or a medical-related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate affairs, public relations, or government affairs, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to develop and support the execution of strategic plans.Experience handling media and external inquiries is desirable.Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, multicultural, matrixed environment and able to develop and maintain networks across business and cultural boundaries.Experience working in the government sector, especially with the Ministry of Health Malaysia, is preferred.Skills and Competencies:
