The salary range for this position is CAD $124,000 – $200,000. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. Aon also offers you a generous incentive earning opportunity and a comprehensive benefits package.

What the day will look like
The Commercial Risk Department Leader will lead and drive the strategic growth plans for Aon’s Risk team in Vancouver. This leader is Solution Line agnostic, and:
+ Responsible for driving and delivering the overall achievement of the department’s business results
+ Direct reporting into the Vancouver Branch leader
+ Drives and is accountable for the delivery of Distinctive Client Value, attraction and retention of top talent, overall talent management and operational excellence.
+ Direct client management for own client book as well as acting as Senior client relationship leader for top 10 clients within the department.
+ Accountable for overall department results – delivering revenue growth and margin in accordance with budget
+ Consistently modeling a “one-firm” attitude/approach.
+ Mentoring junior Associate Account Executives and Account Executives.
+ Collaborates with Specialty Practice Leaders, Office Solution Line leadership, Human Capital leaders, Sales, Growth, and HR.
+ Directs the collaborative activity of the team to plan and achieve annual and long-term business objectives and initiatives within the department in line with the regional standard processes, policies and business plans
+ Leads sales planning, marketing, and execution of sales products, services and programs in support of the client value proposition resulting in new and retained account relationships, enhanced business results and overall Regional revenue growth
+ Reviews department performance results and works with the Aon regional leaders to identify, spearhead and leverage new market and client service opportunities
+ Resolve causes of underperformance and identify vital corrective action steps where objectives are not being met
+ Is responsible for people related activities for the department including recruitment, training, engagement, performance, succession planning, and as appropriate employee relations
+ Makes and communicates decisions related to department operations
+ Working with DAU team to lead any new collaboration with Human Capital
+ Coordinate, create and develop, in conjunction with Branch leader business plans and growth strategies.
+ Responsible for role-modeling and fostering a positive and inclusive colleague experience within the department.
+ Ad-hoc help on various leadership tasks as necessary

Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ 10+ years Commercial insurance and/or risk management experience
+ 5+ years leading direct reports
+ Experience and knowledge of risk management techniques beyond insurance policies is preferred
+ Level II license required
+ At least one of the following designations is preferred: CRM, CIP, FCIP and CAIB.
+ Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook
+ Very strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure of challenging deadlines.
