Your role and responsibilities

Role Description – summary-\tBe responsible for sourcing activities in C&M parts and sheet metal.-\tOwnership of supplier QDCMain Accountabilities & Responsibilities-\tCore Functiono\tUnderstand the cost structure, basic technical knowledge, and risk level of the responsible category(Casting machining and sheet metal).o\tBased on global category strategy, manage the partnership development of selected suppliers and evaluate new supplier’s opportunities.o\tBring early technologies proposal to SCM and R&D to contribute to the product technical road map.o\tStructure and drive QBR/Workshop towards C&M and sheet metal suppliers at global level. Supervise the supplier performance towards agreed achievement targets and risk limitation.o\tProactively define an implementation (in collaboration with internal ABB team and supplier) on cost cut program and proceed to reach target.o\tSupport Risky component process efficiency with component dual source recommendationso\tPilot Negotiation of allocated suppliers and align with group team activities (Negotiation/Strategy workshop/Distribution/contract…)o\tApplies and implements ABB SCM standard, tools and processes.o\tContribute to the category team for total supply chain optimization that continuously improves supply PPM, lead time, VMI , capacity growth. -\tShared Function (With other categories sourcing)o\tManage sourcing and RP projects that optimize total Cost of Ownership (TCO), rationalize supplier base, improve quality and delivery, reduce supply risk (Dual source) and secure design change.o\tManage RFQ and lead the category team with ASQE and Material planner to make sourcing decisions. o\tSupport global NPI project by bringing SCM value from design stage. o\tFocus on collaboration with R&D in BOM definition and management from concept stage.

Qualifications for the role

Challenges – list specifics \tWork with multi-functional team under multi-culture environment. \tRelentless execution Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceAt least 3 years+ work experience in category/commodity management, preferably in Mechanical procurement and in multinational companyWorking knowledge of SAP or other equivalent ERP systemsSound knowledge and understanding of purchasing tools, processes, and practicesAbility to work with cross functional teams such as R&D, NPI sourcing, quality, services, materials etc. to achieve timely project executionAbility to coordinate several projects simultaneously, maintaining timeline.A Bachelor’s degree required, major in Engineering preferredTravel of up to 30% required (in non-pandemic times)
