In this exciting role as a Buyer/ Planner, you will have responsibility for Indirect and Direct purchasing: MRP accuracy, purchase planning and execution, PO maintenance and raw material inventory. This includes placing Purchase Orders for raw materials (including Kanban agreements), negotiating timely delivery for ensuring cost effective acquisition of quality materials, validating BOM for Buy material, inventory analytics to reduce unhealthy inventory. This position leads and works in a collaborative environment with Production planning, Manufacturing, Commodity Management, Supplier Quality and Supplier Management. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. + Understand, validate, correct, and act on Material Requirement planning (MRP) and its messages. Ensure BOM and yield accuracy to ensure MRP signal accuracy. + Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process. + Actively analyzes raw material inventory to reduce unhealthy inventory and avoid scrap and obsolesces. + Partners with Sourcing and Supplier Quality to resolve supplier issue of Quality, capacity and lead time. + Leads and participates in cross-functional projects involving Supply Chain, manufacturing site and corporate initiatives that ensure business objectives are met. + Ensure compliance to procedures and represent purchasing in audits. + Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, quality and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services. + Monitor performance of suppliers (SOTIF – Supplier On-Time in Full) and collaborate on demand analysis planning. + Meet inventory goals while supporting material requirements for production. + Maintain PO for dates and Quantity to remain current and drive excellence in Supplier OTIF + Represent Purchasing in Manufacturing, Operations Scheduling and other daily Tier meetings. + Very close co-ordination with supplier as well as Manufacturing to ensure there are no line downs due to Material. + Place timely purchase orders, expedite material, and assist in resolving payment issues with suppliers. + Partners with Commodity Management/ Supply Management on supplier Value Stream, Capacity Planning, supplier issues/delays and Business continuity assessment + Proactively escalate any supplier issues, get buy in from cross-functional team to ensure risks (of line down) are mitigated. **Must Have: Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree required + Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 0 years relevant experience **Nice to Have** + Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong SAP knowledge a definite asset) + Experience using Blue Yonder advanced supply chain platform + Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software. + Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills (good working knowledge of PowerBI a definite asset) + Excellent communication skills in French and English (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes. + Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics. + Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals. + Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices. + Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical) + APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience + Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.) + Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training) **Physical Job Requirements** The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.  **Benefits & Compensation** **Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package** A commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
