Overview

 

Impact is a vendor (Broadridge) hosted, real-time North American fixed income securities processing, clearing, reconciliation, settlement and accounting platform. The Securities & Operations Technology Impact Support team liaises with internal and third-party technology teams and business stakeholders managing the availability and functionality of the North American Fixed Income processing and settlement platform for the Bank.

 

The Business Analysis Specialist role works both independently and in a project team setting to conceptualize, define, document, develop, test, implement and maintain the Broadridge Impact platform, other vendor, and other internal processing systems and interfaces. The incumbent works closely with service providers and internal business, technology and operations stakeholders to assist in managing the implementation of important business and regulatory enhancements, platform upgrades, necessary maintenance releases, day to day (BAU) queries and production disruption incidents. Through the execution of the role’s duties, the incumbent ensures a high level of customer service consistent with SOT Service Standards, Scotia Service Standards and Complaint Resolution Procedures.


What You'll Do

 

Reporting to the Lead BA Specialist and Senior Manager, the Business Analyst Specialist will:
 

Lead the identification, documentation, assessment, and monitoring of project dependencies, risks, issues, providing recommendations and documenting decisions Engage with business and IT stakeholders, deep diving into workstream issues to drive resolution Contribute to the development, implementation and sustainment of effective governance processes, including the platform and environment optimization, and manage outstanding initiatives to plan, to swiftly address key risks, issues and changes arising through the program Build and sustain relationships with business and technology partners, vendors and colleagues to enable continuously improved business performance Production query & incident Support

 

What You’ll Bring 

 

Soft skills:

Ability to facilitate problem solving sessions and lead stakeholders and technology partners through a methodical approach to identifying, clarifying, and scoping issues, followed by solution definition and planning; strong analytical capabilities to model and solve problems individually. Communication skills: active listening/ courteous/ clear, concise and uncomplicated information exchange (written/oral) Customer Focused: become a trusted partner/ being present/ being empathetic -providing value added services and advice. Organizational/ multitasking skills: task prioritization/ productivity/ collaboration/ goal setting


5 + years of knowledge/experience in:

Financial services industry (Fixed Income and or Equity experience), delivering projects that have significant IT and operational components is preferred. (Upgrades, migrations) Application support Clearance and Settlements (Depositories: Bony, DTC, CDS, Euroclear, ClearStream) Corporate Actions Security Static/BBG Trade flow cycle Data mapping Accounting: Accrued Interest, coupon payments, factor paydown. Prepare and execution of test cases/scenarios

 

Valuable Qualifications:

Cognos (IBM) reporting tool/SQL Tidal Impact (Broadridge) Change Management experience GSOC experience Confluence/JIRA Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft Excel Microsoft Visio Microsoft Projects MMI & Anvil

 

Education/Preferred Industry Courses:

Business Analyst Certification Project Manager Certification Canadian Securities Course (CSC) Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science/ information technology or other technology related degrees
