Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Associate Director - Utilities to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee our energy team within the utilities department, driving technical excellence and business growth while managing complex projects in the region.

Lead and manage the energy team, coordinating activities of engineers and technicians across power infrastructure, instrumentation, control, and extra low voltage design projectsDevelop and implement strategic plans for the utilities department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market demandsOversee technical delivery management, including resolving complex engineering issues and conducting peer reviewsDrive digital transformation initiatives within the discipline, embracing cutting-edge technologies and methodologiesManage large-scale and complex utility projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standardsSpearhead business development efforts, including preparing major bids and proposalsCollaborate with senior leadership to implement business change management initiativesMentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvementEnsure compliance with UAE utility regulations and standards while promoting sustainable energy solutionsRepresent the company as a technical expert in industry forums and client meetings

QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldChartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) certificationMinimum 17 years of experience, including 10 years in large international engineering consultancy and 5 years in a technical leadership roleExtensive knowledge of power infrastructure networks (HV/MV/LV), controls and instrumentation, and extra low voltage systemsProven expertise in land development projects, master planning, and detailed designStrong project management skills with a track record of delivering large-scale utility projectsDemonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teamsExcellent understanding of risk and value management principlesAdvanced skills in technical quality reviews, report writing, and presentationsProficiency in business development and client relationship managementIn-depth knowledge of UAE utility regulations and standardsExperience with sustainable energy solutions and smart grid technologiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a multicultural environment
