Position Summary (Responsibility): Responsible for managing the Customer’s design information for its interpretation and analysis for the creation of the product drawing and bills of materials, as well as subsequent modification thereof derived from the Customer’s engineering changes, applying Aptiv standards as well as complying with the specifications and requirements from the Customer.

Ensure the quality of the product drawing and any other information distributed to your internal and external customers.

Keep your Supervisor informed of the progress of your activities and any problems that may arise.

Meet the established metrics from the area.

Competencies and required skills

English level - Advanced

Collage (Engineering)

>3 years  experience with wiring harnesses

Auto CAD experience, Solid works, CATIA, UG CapH, Zuken, etc.

Microsoft office knowledge

Experience processing Engineering change and Manufacturing

Quality CORE tools knowledge.

Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks.

Make intelligent, timely decisions  and solve problems independently.

Good communication skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

General Functions

Receive and Review Customer design requirements (3D, Drawing, electronic data, etc.).

Check & verify conformance of product drawings to Design Standards

Work directly with Technicians/Designers to resolve design issues

Creation and release of 2D drawings and BoM's per Customer data

Perform successive verification and released 2D drawings and BoM's

Maintain product drawings, BOM, & related information

Process and release validation request (TCVR's, sonics splice/term & sealing), Design request, CR's

Load eTracker for new components

Support build events @ Mfg. Plants & Customer

Support Enterprise Operating System

Generate and release Engineering permits:  Standard and mandatory - and AV's

Support engineering changes quote process"

Schedule Meetings to communicate design changes with the Operations

Test new software enhancements 

Support VAVE's Material Cost Reductions initiatives

Serve as primary  Contact (Liaison) to address Design Issues between Operations/Customer

Complete and monitoring AE Metrics

Problem solving resolution analysis

Attend Customer Meetings

Active Participation in Design Related Workshops as requested with Customer/Aptiv

Responsible for major harness Families

Responsible to design channels, grommets, etc

Responsible for technicians

Lead special projects
