The Additive Technology Engineer (ATE) executes the design, analysis, testing, and integration required for assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to BH’s business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. In this role, you will lead the creation, evaluation, and implementation of comprehensive end-to-end manufacturing solutions for key design features in BH products. You ensure that these solutions meet critical performance criteria—including product quality, cost-efficiency, yield, capacity, schedule, and environmental impact—while driving innovation in additive manufacturing processes.

As a crucial technical leader, you will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to project teams, supporting the professional development of junior engineers. Your responsibilities also include developing test plans, analyzing test data, drawing meaningful conclusions, and documenting technical information in accordance with engineering policies and procedures. Timely communication on significant issues or developments is essential, as is your active participation in technical and program reviews and cross-functional team collaborations to achieve strategic business goals.

As an Additive Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Leading the development and improvement of additive manufacturing processes for both new and existing components, ensuring solutions are scalable and meet BH’s design, quality, and operational standards.Providing technical leadership and coaching to personnel supporting assigned projects, fostering the technical growth and competencies of junior engineers.Developing comprehensive test plans, analyze test data, draw conclusions, and document technical data generated from projects in line with BH’s engineering policies and procedures.
Work with cross-functional teams, Global Supply Managers, and BH suppliers to align manufacturing development strategies with clear goals, schedules, and expectations. Ensure timely and effective communication of progress, issues, and technical findings.Identify and implement appropriate fabrication equipment and processes to meet design and operational requirements.Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and support long-term business objectives.Contribute to broader organizational initiatives and address generic issues, leveraging cross-functional learnings and building on your knowledge of critical stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will:

Have at least Bachelors or Master's in Mechanical Engineering (or related field). PhD is a plusGood experience with CAD and CAM tools for build preparation in support of metal 3D printed component production.Good experience in mechanical product development, manufacturing engineering, tooling engineering, high-precision fabrication, or related roles.Good experience with topology optimization tools applied to metal components.(A plus)Proficiency in applying hands-on engineering methods and problem-solving techniques.Expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).Experience in additive design software for manufacturability, CAD/FEM design tools, and additive manufacturing processes (excluding powder bed), with a focus on turbomachinery design.Experience with post-processing techniques, including milling, tumble finishing, heat treatment, and workshop operations.Be passionate about technologyExcellent communication skills, able to provide timely updates and lead discussions on process development and technical challengesBe a good team player and display good communication skills
