**General Accounting Specialist** **Job Overview:** Provide **high-level technical and general accounting services** in accordance with **IQVIA Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)** , **US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)** , **Sarbanes-Oxley rules** , and **financial reporting requirements** of the business unit (e.g., local GAAP). **Essential Functions:** + **Recommend, develop, implement, and maintain standards** for functional roles. + **Analyze, prepare, and process journal entries** ; analyze, maintain, and reconcile general ledger accounts. + **Provide records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions** . + **Prepare profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements** . Maintain inter-company accounting records and reconciliations. + **Prepare ad hoc reports** for internal and inter-departmental use. + **Ensure appropriate approvals** are obtained for accounting purposes. + **Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis** for the annual external audit. + **Ensure accuracy and compliance** with all accounting regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. + **Perform special projects** as needed. + **Work on month/quarter-end financial close and statutory close** . + **Suggest improvements** to existing processes and systems. + **Assist with preparing monthly bank account reconciliations** . + **Assist with maintaining receipts and disbursement reports** . + **Perform other duties as assigned** . **Qualifications:** + **High School Diploma or equivalent required** , or + **Bachelor's Degree required** . + **1 year of experience required** , or + **Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required** . + **Knowledge of Peoplesoft/SAP Finance modules** . + **Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications** . + **Technical accounting skills** . + **Data analysis and manipulation skills** . + **Ability to exercise judgment** within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. + **Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements** to meet deadlines. + **Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships** with co-workers, managers, and clients. **About IQVIA:** IQVIA is a leading global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions, and clinical research services to the life sciences industry.
